The Bangladesh youth hockey team registered their second successive win in the Men’s Junior AHF Cup hockey competition thrashing Sri Lanka by 14-0 goals in their second Pool B match held today (Saturday) at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman.
In the day’s match, Amirul Islam scored hat-trick with five goals, Md. Hasan and Md. Hossain slammed hat-trick scoring three goals each, Md. Joy scored two goals while Md. Ali netted a lone goal for Bangladesh in the one-sided affairs.
Earlier Bangladesh made an auspicious start competition beating Hong Kong China by 4-0 goals in their opening Pool B match held on Friday last.
Bangladesh pitted in group B along with Sri Lanka, Hong King China and Uzbekistan while the Pool A consist with Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia and host Oman.
The boys in red and green will play their third and last next group match against Uzbekistan on January 9.
The semifinals of the competition will be held on January 11 while the final is slated for January 12.
